It was quite a summer last year. It started with a trip to Golden Colorado to the Biodiesel Conference in July immediately followed by an Elsbett conversion workshop. When I say immediately, you have no idea - a red eye flight and one hour to get from the airport to the workshop.
On relatively short notice, we were able to get 7 cars/owners to participate in the Elsbett workshop at the Rindge School of Technical Arts in Cambridge, MA. We were lucky to be led by Alexander Noack from Elsbett. Despite temperatures in the 90's and tropical humidity, we converted 4 Mercedes and 3 VW's.
We participated in a green car event hosted by ICARE at the end of July. There was a surprising amount of interest in the recently converted Els-Beetle.
A few weeks later we had the good fortune of hosting a biodiesel workshop led by Girl Mark. This was held at The Distillery in South Boston, MA. We had the gracious hospitality offered by Second Street Associates - thank you to Fred Gordon, Mark Anstey and Bill Stroud. Watch for news of this project in the next couple of years. They are visionaries with big, green redevelopment plans.
As we caught our breath, we prepared to exhibit at AltWheels in Boston. What an event! Despite threatening skys we were able to speak with a tremendous number of vegetable oil fanatics and thrill seekers.
